I used to work as a GP in the UK, but now I’m a Transformational Life Coach and Artist. I gave up my licence to practice medicine in order to pursue my true passion and to heal myself. My journey from Medicine to Art helped me to discover my true self, showing me how powerful our beliefs and mindset can be in shaping our entire lives.
Personal transformation is all about discovering and embracing who you really are. The version of you that isn’t just pandering to everybody else’s expectations. I’m here to guide you through that journey.
With my former GP background, I bring great listening skills and a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. Modern medicine often misses the root causes of our "dis-ease," and that’s where my holistic approach comes in. My artistic journey has also taught me the magic of creativity and openness in personal growth.
This unique blend of medical insight and creative exploration makes me a life coach who is passionate about helping you unlock your full potential and fall in love with your life again.

Are you in touch with your deepest desires and aspirations? Maybe you’ve never considered this question before. I know first hand how many of us go through life fulfilling roles and responsibilities (doctor and mum to name a couple for me), but how often do we pause to ask ourselves if we are truly living a life we love?
What are your biggest dreams and aspirations?
When was the last time you allowed yourself to dream without limits? Does even the thought make you cringe a little? Our dreams are a reflection of our true potential and passions. I can help you turn those dreams into achievable goals.

Life is full of ups and downs. How resilient do you feel when faced with obstacles? Building a strong, positive mindset is crucial for navigating life’s challenges with confidence and grace. I can help develop your ability to deal with life’s stressors.

Understanding and living in alignment with your purpose brings a profound sense of fulfilment. Do you know what brings you joy and a sense of meaning? Together, we will uncover your purpose (which can evolve over time) and help you create a life that resonates with your true self.

Holistic wellbeing includes physical, emotional, and mental health aspects. Consider your current health status. Are there aspects you wish to enhance? My experience as a General Practitioner provides an in-depth understanding of the influence of mindset on health, which I incorporate into our coaching sessions.

How stress affects us:
As a life coach and former GP, I have seen first-hand how chronic stress and the constant need to stay busy can significantly impact our mental and physical wellbeing by keeping us in a state of survival mode.
When we are chronically busy and stressed, our body produces stress hormones like cortisol - this can contribute to a range of health issues such as anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, and weakened immune function*. Mentally, the need to stay busy often stems from a desire to avoid uncomfortable emotions or thoughts, resulting in burnout and a diminished capacity for joy and creativity.
Various stressors activate our survival instincts, including work pressures, personal conflicts, financial worries, and even the fast-paced nature of modern life. Living in survival mode means your brain is constantly on high alert, focusing on immediate threats rather than long-term wellbeing. This prevents you from accessing your full potential and experiencing true peace and fulfilment.
Together, we can address the root causes of your stress and I can show you how to embrace a balanced, mindful approach to life. By doing so, you can break free from these survival mechanisms, manage stress more effectively, and enhance your holistic health.

Do you have an unfulfilled dream?
I understand what it's like to seemingly 'have it all'—a stable, successful career, a loving family, a beautiful home—yet still feel unfulfilled. To feel there's more to life than the path you're on, as if your soul is being slowly crushed, and to believe there's no way out.
I know how scary and confusing these feelings can be. Our instinct is often to distract ourselves with more of what doesn't fulfill us, driven by society's constant message to stay busy and equate success with happiness. But deep down, you know this isn't true fulfillment.
It takes immense courage to face these feelings and thoughts, and to work through them. I can help you gain a new perspective and see a way out of what feels like your life’s destiny.

My coaching will help unlock those answers from within you, by asking questions that help you see your life from another perspective.

I offer in person sessions in Sheffield, UK.
I also offer online sessions, available to clients across the UK and internationally.
What my coaching isn’t:
It isn’t me telling you how to live your life: I won't prescribe specific actions or dictate your path. My role is to guide, support, and empower you to discover and follow your own unique journey.
It isn’t Therapy: Whilst there is an overlap in some of the tools used, life coaching is distinct from therapy because it doesn't delve into past traumas. Instead, we focus on your present and future, setting goals and creating actionable plans.
It isn’t medical advice: While my background as a GP provides valuable insights, I do not offer medical diagnoses or treatments. My focus is on holistic well-being and personal growth.
It isn’t a quick fix: Personal transformation takes time and commitment. My coaching is about making sustainable, long-term changes rather than offering instant solutions.
It isn’t one size fits all: Every individual is unique, and my coaching is tailored to your specific needs, goals, and circumstances. It's a personalised approach designed just for you.
It isn’t about turning you into an artist: You don't need to consider yourself creative or have any previous art experience. While I use some creative techniques, they are simply tools to help unlock new ways of thinking and problem-solving.

I am a fully qualified Life Coach. I have completed a Level 3 Diploma with Oxbridge Learning. I am an accredited member of ACCPH, which is an association for accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists. I have also completed a Meditation Diploma via the Centre of Excellence.
I am a registered doctor with the GMC, however I have voluntarily given up my license to practice medicine to pursue another way of helping people. I am registered under the name Dr. Rana Farooq GMC no. 6098250.
I qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2004 with a MBChB (Hons).
