Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers

Harmonise de-clutter and organiser of Plymouth took a road trip to the North West, last weekend, for some APDO (Association of Professional De-clutterers and organisers) training, near Manchester.

We covered many things in one day. Firstly, what Professional organisers do, including dealing with emotions of people who are vulnerable and need our help, because they feel overwhelmed, embarrassed, and uncomfortable.

There was a section on compliance with industry standards and upholding the code of ethics. For the consultations with clients, we discussed the different options and managing expectations, commitment to confidentiality and clarifying terms and conditions.

APDO Trainers

Our trainers talked about our pricing structure. What to take along with us on our organising sessions with clients. How to find clients, the people who need us and can afford to pay for our help, the value of our help to our client’s well being.

I came away with a few actions to put in place and lots of inspiration to keep going onward.

This was a good investment for the future of Harmonise.
